What to Look for in Yoga Clothing
Yoga is fast becoming one of the most popular ways to keep both the mind and body healthy. Though you can do yoga in just about any clothing, it is always best to invest in yoga clothing if you anticipate this becoming a major piece of your life. Just like any sport, if you take the time to invest in the appropriate clothing and equipment, then you can only enjoy yoga that much more. The right yoga clothing makes it easier to perform the positions and breathing exercises and can end up making the activity that much more beneficial for the mind and body. After all, you don’t want to worry about your shirt lifting over your head when you’re contorting your body and trying to strengthen your muscles. The following are some things to consider when it comes time to invest in yoga clothing.

Fit
Different kinds of yoga will require different kinds of clothing. For example, if you are practicing bikram yoga, you will probably want clothing that is form-fitting and cool because you will be working up a sweat (i.e. there’s a reason this form of yoga is called hot yoga). In fact, a lot of bikram yoga clothing is form-fitting because people are moving so much (i.e. sports bras are a popular way to stay cool while practicing this form of yoga). However, if you are practicing poses in your bedroom, you can probably go with looser fitting clothing that covers more of the body.
And of course, any yoga clothing you choose should feel comfortable on you. You don’t want clothing to be too tight or too big. If this is the case, you will find yourself interrupting poses to readjust your shirt or top, and this defeats the purpose of yoga (i.e. moving from position to position).
